Shishukunj NC MUN 2026

Beyond Today, Towards Tomorrow

Letter from the Secretary General

Dear Shishukunj Family,
Namaste

There is something fascinating about a conference before it begins. Empty committee rooms. Silent placards. Agendas waiting to be debated. At first glance, it is just another event. But within a matter of hours, those same rooms will witness ideas being challenged, friendships being formed, and perspectives being transformed.

There is a moment before every great performance when the hall falls silent. The audience waits, anticipation fills the air, and for a brief second, anything seems possible. As you step into 4th edition of SIS NC MUN, you stand in that very moment. As an 11th grader, my passions lie in international geopolitics, the world of literature where just a few words suffice, and cinema, which mirrors human experience. My MUN journey began in the 7th grade, and I haven’t looked back since. This year, we gather under the theme of Novaris Continuum. To me, this theme represents the journey of progress.

It is a reminder that every conversation, every challenge, and every decision becomes part of something larger than ourselves. Growth is never a single moment; it is a continuous process of learning, adapting, and moving forward. It is both an honour and a privilege to welcome you to SIS NC MUN. I look forward to witnessing the ideas you bring, the friendships you build, and the impact you create. The future is not built in a single moment. It is shaped by every voice willing to contribute to the journey.

Letter from the Director General

Namaste everyone,

Never did I imagine that Model UNs would completely change the way I understood people, and myself. Going into committees, it always felt as if everything revolved around being the most intellectually formidable person in the room, and departing with an award and the contentment that, somehow, you had managed to be seen. To an extent, that instinct never entirely disappears.

Give it enough experiences, and you begin to realise that the people who really leave an imprint on a committee are the individuals who make the atmosphere feel different once they enter it. You don’t forget certain experiences in your life. For me, it was a Security Council simulation, where another delegate and I represented opposing countries.

We argued incessantly, but by the end of committee, we found ourselves working together on the same resolution. Upholding one’s convictions while retaining the intellectual humility required to understand another perspective is what diplomacy means. That is why I feel that diplomacy is the essence of any MUN.

I, Akshanshh Jain, the Director General of this conference, intend for Shishukunj NC MUN 2026 to become something beyond the predictability of a conventional conference. With 10 committees, countless debates and negotiations, this conference will demand far more than procedural understanding from its delegates.

It will demand presence, restraint, and the ability to think beyond oneself. Years from now, you may not remember every detail about this MUN. However, you will certainly remember how certain rooms irrevocably changed the way you saw yourself.
